CPC - Calcined Petroleum Coke

Petroleum Coke is the final carbon-rich solid material that derives from oil refining, and is one type of group of fuels referred to as cokes. The coke can either be fuel grade (high in sulfur & metals) or anode grade (low in sulfur and metals). Calcination of petroleum coke in a rotary kiln removes residual volatile hydrocarbons from the coke. The product received at the end is a highly electrically conductive carbon called Calcined petroleum coke. The calcined petroleum coke releases more energy than coal on burning, and is thus used as a fuel and also used to make anodes for the aluminium, steel & titanium smelting industry.
